Commercial Service Plumbing Service Technician

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs scheduled and unscheduled service and repairs on residential, light commercial & commercial plumbing systems.
  • Works in various installation, repair, maintenance and service capacities individually, and as part of a crew.
  • Must be able to work weekends and nights for emergency plumbing calls
  • Diagnosis of malfunctioning equipment to determine cause and appropriate corrective action
  • Installs, services, or replaces components including, but not limited to fixtures, faucets, water heaters, water softeners, pumps, valves
  • Knowledge of backflows and willing to get certified
  • Performs physically demanding tasks related to installation and repair of plumbing systems.
  • Performs preventive maintenance tasks according to established protocols
  • Completes required documentation (i.e. work orders, purchase orders, etc.) for services performed
  • Performs cleaning and maintenance of equipment, tools, materials, and vehicles utilized; ensures adherence to principles and practices of safe equipment use and operation.

HVAC Chiller Technician

Job Description:

As a Chiller Technician you will be responsible for the following:

  • Maintaining and Servicing HVAC systems (Hydronic, Steam, Chilled Water, DX, Forced Air, Heat Pump, VAV, Constant Volume, Exhaust, Heat Recovery, Sheet Metal Ducting and various related mechanical systems)
  • Maintaining tools, supplies, and equipment
  • Diagnosing/trouble shooting centrifugal and screw technology and HVACR equipment
  • Performing preventive maintenance on equipment
  • Following all safety requirements and use appropriate PPE
  • Maintaining expenses through planned courses of action
  • Keeping appropriate records
  • Having Flexibility to work extended shifts (overtime as required)
  • Maintaining professional appearance

Job Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years experience working with Centrifugal and Screw Chillers with associated systems components
  • Knowledge of rigging equipment and safe rigging techniques
  • Knowledge of precision measuring equipment
  • Experience in equipment tear down and rebuild
  • Documented factory training on equipment and associated controls packages and proven track record with references
  • Ability to analyze and interpret equipment log reports
  • Diagnosis and resolve operational problems
  • Good written, verbal and listening communication skills
  • Competent in WISHA/OSHA job site safety requirements
  • Ability to work overtime
  • Ability to effectively interact with customers and staff

Pay based on experience. $30-$35 per hour

Journeyman Service Electrician

Job Description:

As a Chiller Technician you will be responsible for the following:

  • Sylvester & Cockrum, Inc is accepting resumes for openings for Journeyman Electricians.
  • The position is based out of our Winston Salem, NC office.
  • Must be able to Install, maintains and repairs electrical systems, equipment, wiring and controls
  • Proficient in lighting retrofits in a commercial, Industrial, manufacturing and residential environments.
  • Responsible for maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, installation and construction of industrial
  • Electrical equipment and systems found in an industrial or commercial environment through the proper use of standard wire, conduit, fittings and hardware commonly found in industrial plants.
  • Reads and understands conduit drawings, schematics, drawings, and specifications.
  • Able to set and coordinate overcurrent protective devices, size feeder circuits
  • Bend, cut, thread and install conduit.
  • Install and terminate wiring.
  • Check out and troubleshoot simple electric circuits and electrical devices and machinery.
  • Accountable for testing, troubleshooting, setting and calibrating power distribution systems, while working with protective relaying and motor control circuit.
  • Lighting maintenance experience required.
  • Willing to travel out of town a week at a time.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED) required
  • Six (6) years’ experience as an electrician, including three (3) years in industrial electrical work or in relevant field is preferred.
  • At least two years in an accredited apprenticeship program preferred.
  • Possesses current knowledge of Journeyman Electrician, and an understanding of organizational practices.
  • Basic understanding of electrical circuits including the operation and function of typical electrical devices and machinery such as solenoids, relays, motors, transformers, switches, motor control centers, generators, batteries and lighting systems.
  • Possess an excellent knowledge of the National Electric Code.
  • Valid driver’s license including ability to be insured by company’s auto insurer required.
  • Must have own tools.
  • Class B CDL.
